From Support Engineer to Office Manager: A Career Built at AVT Reliability®
When I joined AVT Reliability® in April 2022, I started out as a Support Engineer for our Machine Sentry® software and hardware. From day one, I was welcomed by a knowledgeable, collaborative team that helped me quickly get up to speed and thrive in my role. The support and trust I received gave me the confidence to push myself—taking on Machine Sentry® training responsibilities, working directly with customers, and developing both my technical and professional skills.
What truly sets AVT Reliability® apart is the way the company nurtures growth. Within just 18 months, I was given the opportunity to step into a management position. Today, I proudly serve as Office Manager, where I oversee our day-to-day logistics and operations to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
But that’s just one part of what I do. I’m also a lead trainer for Machine Sentry®, helping shape our internal training methods and delivering hands-on sessions to clients around the world. I work on software support and development, and play a key role in implementing routine condition monitoring programmes across global industries. Whether it’s mentoring new talent or helping customers on their reliability journey, I’m constantly learning and growing in a role that challenges and inspires me.
If you’re looking for a place where hard work is recognised, talent is developed, and career progression is a reality, AVT Reliability® is the place to be. My journey is proof that with the right support, the possibilities here are limitless.

From Apprentice to Expert: My Career Journey at AVT Reliability®
I joined AVT Reliability® in 2018 as a Trainee Condition Monitoring Engineer, just a year after completing my mechanical apprenticeship and working as a mechanical fitter in a workshop. Since then, my career has grown in ways I never imagined—thanks to the incredible support, training, and opportunities provided by AVT.
Throughout my time here, I’ve been fortunate to follow a structured development programme that has equipped me with a wide range of industry-recognised certifications, including Vibration Analysis Level 3, Thermography Level 1, ICML Level 1, and ARP-A. I’ve also received hands-on training in Laser Alignment, Balancing, and gained experience with Rotor Dynamics. On top of that, AVT supported me through all the necessary safety courses required for offshore work.
What I love most about working at AVT Reliability® is the variety—no two days are the same. Some days I’m out in the field capturing and analysing vibration data; others, I’m responding to ad-hoc requests for thermography, alignment, or balancing work. I travel regularly to Shetland, making nine trips a year to carry out vibration testing for a key client. Recently, I even had the chance to go offshore to Holland, where I worked alongside our Dutch team on the alignment of a gas turbine—an unforgettable and rewarding experience.
If you’re looking for a career that offers real progression, continuous learning, and the chance to work on exciting projects both in the UK and internationally, AVT Reliability® is the place to be. It’s more than just a job—it’s a career with purpose, challenge, and opportunity.

From Trainee to Trusted Engineer: My Journey with AVT Reliability®
When I joined AVT Reliability® in August 2022, I had minimal engineering experience – but I had the drive to learn. Thanks to the incredible support and hands-on training from the team around me, I progressed from a Condition Monitoring Trainee to a fully qualified Condition Monitoring Engineer in under two years.
During that time, I achieved my Category II Vibration Analysis certification, along with several other qualifications that have helped shape me into a confident, capable engineer. Today, I cover a wide range of sites across multiple industries, applying my skills to keep critical machinery running smoothly and efficiently.
No two days are ever the same at AVT. One day I’m collecting and analysing vibration data, liaising with customers and providing detailed reports; the next, I could be working on lubrication tasks, laser alignment, or ad-hoc reliability jobs. Every site, every job, and every challenge is different—and that’s what keeps me motivated.
If you’re looking for a career where you can grow fast, gain real-world experience, and never stop learning, AVT Reliability® is the place to do it. The journey from beginner to professional is one you won’t take alone – and the rewards are well worth it.

From Trainee to Site Lead: My Career Progression at AVT Reliability®
I joined AVT Reliability® in March 2021 as a Trainee Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) Engineer, starting out on a high-risk top-tier COMAH site. With no prior experience in condition monitoring, I was given a comprehensive and structured training programme that laid the foundation for my development. Fast forward to today, and I’m proud to now lead that very site as the CBM Engineer and Site Lead.
Throughout my journey with AVT, I’ve had the opportunity to attend a wide range of industry-recognised courses—from ARP-A to MLA—and gain hands-on experience across multiple sites nationwide. This diverse exposure has helped me build the technical expertise and leadership skills I need to manage critical maintenance programmes with confidence.
In my current role, I’m responsible for overseeing both the lubrication management and condition monitoring programmes. I apply multiple reliability techniques across site to keep equipment running efficiently, reduce unplanned downtime, and ensure plant reliability.
If you’re looking to take your career to the next level in a company that genuinely invests in your growth and gives you the opportunity to lead, AVT Reliability® is the perfect place to start and succeed.
